Most rooftops are home to farms run by one of two companies. With industry pushing the border between urban and rural areas, space for farming needed to be found somewhere. One rooftop isn't a large amount, but across all the rooftops of Neo-Seoul's sprawling skyline, that's quite a farm. With transportation, historically the largest carbon emission, now clean and largely public transit, the air quality of the city is more that pure enough to avoid choking out the farms, and their presence actually improves the quality of atmosphere, as nature often does.
